What VPN providers are compatible with VPN Watcher

VPN Watcher is compatible with almost all VPN providers, who offer VPN services using PPTP or OpenVPN techniques.

Below is the list of VPN providers tested with VPN Watcher by our staff

Configure VPN Watcher to use with your VPN provider

You should select proper network interface to be monitored by VPN Watcher depending on VPN connection type you use.

Most VPN providers offer PPTP, L2TP and OpenVPN connection types.

Just select your VPN connection from "Connections" drop down list and the program will automatically start the monitoring process. You also may use the "Connect" button to enable/disable your VPN connection instead of using built-in OS interface.

If you use OpenVPN connection - you should select the network interface created during your VPN client installation process

Suspend controlled application with VPN Watcher

Please notice, that this feature is available only in full program version.

Add a program to the controlled applications list. Then open parameters menu item.

Right click the controlled program and choose "Parameters"

In the dialog box check the "Suspend" option.

Check the "Suspend" option

Now VPN Watcher will try to suspend this application each time your VPN connection goes down. If this program doesn't support the "suspended" mode - it will be stopped.

Please notice, that suspended program "freezes" its windows and doesn't respond to the mouse and keyboard input.

How RootCam provides data protection

RootCam uses AES encryption to protect the transmitted data. The session encryption keys exchange is performed using 1024-bit RSA encryption.

The most important data like access passwords etc. is always protected with 256-bit AES encryption. While the rest of the data is encrypted with 128-bit AES keys by default. Which is known as well solution for the free version of the program which limits support session time by 15 minutes.

RootCam Personal offers additional option to encrypt the whole data using 256-bit AES encryption with a regular change of keys.
